= Quick start =&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here is how to start with your Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100 Camera based on the CM-i.MX53 SoM.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
*Usually the camera will arrive pre-mounted&lt;br /&gt;
*Configure the DIP switches on the base board for [[#SD (Secure Digital) card|SD card boot]]. (If you do not want to boot the Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100 demo application, boot Linux only from [[#SPI NOR flash|SPI-NOR]]).&lt;br /&gt;
*Connect 12V DC to the power connector on the back panel&lt;br /&gt;
*Connect a monitor or TV via HDMI on the back panel&lt;br /&gt;
*If you like, connect Ethernet on the back panel&lt;br /&gt;
*Optionally, connect to the serial terminal to see the board&amp;#039;s boot messages (via eCAM-EXT-Debug board on the red extension connector X11)&lt;br /&gt;

The Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100 board allows to configure the CM-i.MX53  module&amp;#039;s boot mode via a DIP switch.&lt;br /&gt;

= JTAG connector =&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some JTAG debuggers, like the PEEDI JTAG, short pins #1 and #2 (VREF and VSUPPLY) of the [https://www.jtagtest.com/pinouts/arm20 20-pin ARM JTAG header] (X9). On the Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100, these pins are connected to different voltages (2V8 vs. 3V3) and MUST NOT be shortened.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Important!&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; If your JTAG device/connector shorts pins #1 and #2, the following switch setting must be done on Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100 &amp;amp;ge;V1.2.X. It disconnects 3V3 from JTAG pin #2 (VSUPPLY).&lt;br /&gt;

= U-Boot/Linux kernel configuration =&lt;br /&gt;

There is a Linux kernel parameter for the Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100 Camera which enables some specific features at boot time. Add this to your &amp;#039;&amp;#039;bootargs_base&amp;#039;&amp;#039; variable in U-Boot.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
*Boot U-Boot&lt;br /&gt;
*Press any key to stop Linux kernel boot, you will get to U-Boot&amp;#039;s prompt.&lt;br /&gt;
*Add the Linux kernel parameter:&lt;br /&gt;

What it does:&lt;br /&gt;
*Reads factory reset pin on boot and prints the message &amp;quot;Factory Reset on iCAM-CM-i.MX requested!&amp;quot; in case the button is pressed&lt;br /&gt;
*Configures on-board RTC correctly&lt;br /&gt;
*Doesn&amp;#039;t switch off the PMIC after &amp;#039;&amp;#039;poweroff&amp;#039;&amp;#039; command (since restart would require power-cycling)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
= Serial terminal over USB-OTG =&lt;br /&gt;
On the Argos&amp;amp;reg;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2D&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; A100, the UART1 serial port is only accessible on an extension connector via a breakout-cable. Alternatively, one may use a serial terminal over USB-OTG.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
