BLACKSheep® OS Licensing

Scope

Software development and commercial usage of BLACKSheep® OS requires a registered and licensed version of BLACKSheep® OS.

BLACKSheep® OS uses a royalty model where a registered developer gains access to a continuously updated SVN repository for one year. The latest updates of BLACKSheep® OS and the source code can be download from this SVN repository. In addition the developer gets support by Bluetechnix Blackfin® experts. This page gives detailed information about the available licenses of BLACKSheep® OS.

Licensing

The BLACKSheep® OS license can be split up into three parts which are explained below.

• Development Company License
• Annual fee
• Product Lifetime License

BLACKSheep® OS - Development Company License

Software development with BLACKSheep® OS requires a single Development Company License. With this license exactly one company gets authorized and gains access to a SVN update repository. This license fee has to be paid once. The access to the SVN repository is valid for exactly one year and can be expanded by a small annual fee after this time has expired.

BLACKSheep® OS - Annual Fee

The customer gains access to a continuously updated SVN repository for one year where he can download the latest updates of BLACKSheep® OS. After this time has expired the customer can extend his SVN access and Bluetechnix support for another year for a small annual fee. Authorized BLACKSheep® developers get enhanced support by Bluetechnix Blackfin® experts.

BLACKSheep® OS - Product Lifetime License

For commercial deployment a product lifetime license must be purchased. For each product which uses the whole BLACKSheep® OS or even parts of it the customer has to pay a unique product lifetime license. This fee is staggered on the product run.

Note: Each Bluetechnix Blackfin® Core Module customer gets an unlimited product-lifetime-license for each Core Module for free! The lifetime license is included at the Core Module price. This means there is no product-lifetime-license required for our Core Module customers if they are using Bluetechnix Blackfin® Core Modules in their products. The product-lifetime-license is limited to each Core Module.

Bluetechnix offers customized hard- and software development for customer products. Customers that are using Bluetechnix hard- and/or software development gain of the advantage of getting a product lifetime license for this developed customer product for free!

106-2208	BLACKSheep® OS - Product Lifetime License up to 10.000 units	Product lifetime license which must be purchased for commercial products (up to 10.000 units) that uses BLACKSheep® OS. This fee is staggered on the product run (staggered rates, see price list).
106-2209	BLACKSheep® OS - Product Lifetime License over 10.000 units	Product lifetime license which must be purchased for commercial products (over 10.000 units) that uses BLACKSheep® OS. This fee is staggered on the product run (staggered rates, see price list).
