Preparation

Like described in the PMDSDK User Manual's Register Details the Mod Led Enable Register must be configured in order for the camera to output the modulation signal: Write the value 5 to register 48 to enable the external modulation signal and to disable the internal one (refer to the register description).

For example, using the Argos3D - P100 Visualizer as depicted below, the internal illumination will be disabled and the external will be enabled.

P100-Visualizer

The signal is a differential LVDS (3V) signal (50% duty cycle). The frequency is the selected modulation frequency (Max. 30MHz)
It can be used to connect an alternative light source.

Enable internal and disable external illumination

By using the source command "SetRegister 48 0x13" the external illumination will be disabled and the internal illumination will be enabled again.
